Eyes - Chanel mystic eyes quad

I flew off to the island of Furteventura last week in a vain attempt to get some heat in my bones. Unfortunately it was overcast for the majority of the week only getting some sunshine on the last day of the trip. This did however mean that I went shopping all week with my birthday money for some treats.

When I first laid my eyes on this quad I'm pretty sure I saw my name written all over it. I have another Chanel quad which has black, white and two grey shadows in it which I bought last year when I told myself I would start to be more adventurous with my make up. Its amazing and I adore it but unfortunately the queen of neutrals barely uses it.

This quad contains a dark brown, light pink, muted silvery gold and a copper toned shadow. Perfect for a smokey eye look. The packaging is the standard effortlessly glamorous black and white square compact which features a handy little mirror and two little applicators.

The colour payoff from the shadows is excellent, the slight shimmer in the colours really helps highlight and brighten your eyes. The staying power of the shadows is also impressive, I have not only turned up at home with my entire eye make up intact after a messy night out but also when Ive been naughty and slept with my make up on its still there almost in its entirety in the morning.

The only let down of the product really is the price. This product is not for everyone as many people on a budget can justify spending £37 on an eyeshadow compact. It is however a little bit of luxury and if you find yourself coming into a little bit of cash and fancy a treat this is a product that wont leave you wanting your pennies back!

New ink - Live for now, forget forever

I skipped off to the tattoo studio on sunday with two of my friends and got a little bit of ink. We all got the same quote which is "live for now, forget forever" which is from the Example song midnight run. Its to represent our passion for life and to remind us to live in the moment. I've fallen in love with it and can't wait for Ibiza and festival season to wear open armed vests and bikinis to show it off.

I've never had a real issue with the sensation of being tattooed, I quite enjoy it but I was a little nervous as I had been told the ribs are quite painful so I braced myself for what I expected to be a sore one. I was pleasantly surprised as it was only slightly uncomfortable and I can happily say that its healing up beautifully.

You're not nineteen forever

This past weekend was my twentieth birthday. I can no longer be considered a teen or the child. I am adult. Grown up. Sensible.. Well maybe not the last one. I celebrated my birthday with the best people in the world - my friends. You really couldn't ask for a better bunch or a better night.

Getting older doest actually make a difference to me. Not drastically yet anyways but it does make me see that life is short and the days really matter. You're never going to be the age you are again and you'll never get today back. Live the life you want the way you want and be ridiculously happy with everything that you do. Life is wonderful, don't ever forget that.

TAN: Soap & Glory Glow Getter

Last week I posted that I had finished my glow getter instant tan, I got it as a christmas present last year so It was a long time coming but before it ran out I managed to take a few swatches so I could have a little ramble about it. Soap and glory to me is an excellent brand and I was really excited to try this out but I alas found I had a little bit of a love/hate relationship with it.

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with most instant tanners though. Many of them make my skin feel chalky, seem to rub off on my clothes and worst of all are a pain to remove but they are excellent and a necessity in the last minute make up bag.

The swatches don't really do the tans colour justice, it does definitely darken the skin but in the swatches it just makes my skin look less pinker, that's not a bad thing but If you are looking to be a bronzed beauty it could be. The tan does give you a good bronzed colour but like with many it does make your skin feel a bit chalky. For this reason I only used it on my legs where it is actually a great product and this is where the divide in my opinion comes. I like the product on my legs, I think its a great product BUT I wouldn't use it all over my body but the SECOND BUT is that I have yet to find an instant spray tan that I actually would use all over my body so I think its more of a dislike for the type of product rather than the product itself.

I recommend if: You can stand the feeling all over, You are a S&G junkie or if you are in need of an instant tanner for those tanless leg emergencies.

Pale lilac sparkly heaven, this is what dreams are made of. Instant glamour and instant princess effect. Since I polished my claws up all I've been able to do is stare at them! The lilac/pink colour was a freebie in a magazine a while ago and my models own polish is my holy grail of glitter.

Now all I need to do is put my gown, tiara and glass slippers on and find my prince right? well maybe ill stick to my Topshop dress and KG heels. If you see Ed Westwick tell him I'm looking for him..

EXTREME PROJECT 10 PAN: Six weeks down.

Six weeks ago I started an extreme project 10 pan. I knew that it would be something that I would have to work at over time and that I wouldn't finish the products over night but six weeks on I can happily say that I'm on track to rid myself of cluttered products and starting to teach myself how to save (every product I finish = £10 to the Ibiza fund) I've become even more determined not to splurge on stuff I already have as I've booked two weeks in Ibiza for next August and I'm hoping to do it in style!

FAKE TAN -3/11

I actually expected to go through my tans quicker than the rest but I've not really been tan-tastic the past month. I managed to go through my Soap and Glory Glow getter instant tan as I had many last minute nights out that required an instant glow on my legs as I do not get on well with tan coloured tights. I also managed to go through one of my bottles of Johnson's holiday skin and my bottle of St Moriz Dark mousse.

PERFUME -3/22

Everyone at work has been complimenting me on how lovely I've been smelling lately (not that I usually smell bad!) I've been smelling extra yummy lately though as I've been making sure that I top up my scent on my breaks etc so my scent doesn't fade away whereas I usually have one little spray in the morning and I forget to top up! By adding this little routine in I've managed to go through: Lancome Hypnose, Ralph Lauren Notorious and Lady Million by Paco Rabanne. My Lancome hypnose isn't photographed above as my mum noticed the empty bottle and chucked it out. Silly Mummy Morgan didn't realise I needed it to photograph!

LIP-BALMS - well..

You'll notice that there are no little pots finished in the photos. That is because as per usual I've lost them all! I'm sure that they will turn up eventually but I think its safe to say they will be lost again just as quick. For this reason I'm going to remove them from project 10 pan as I fear It would never end because of them!

BOOKSHELF: Marrying up - Wendy Holden

Wendy Holden to me is the queen of comic chic writing that's a perfect accompaniment to a poolside, bubble bath or cosy day in bed. Every book of hers that I've read I've enjoyed so when I stumbled across this one in Sainsburys I knew I was in for a treat!

Marrying up brings together the stories of Polly a young archaeologist with a broken heart, Alexa a social climbing seductress who desperately wants to be in the aristocrat crowd, the beautiful and wild Lady Florrie and her over bearing mother and Max a young vet student who has a secret he's hiding.

I really enjoyed this book, its light hearted and easy to read its the perfect chick lit that in my opinion would be perfect to be turned into a chick flick! Definitely on the hunt for more of her books.

FACE:Maybelline dream matte powder

Admittedly I've never really been a big fan of powder. I always made up for it by applying lots of foundation but recently I saw sense and realised its far better for my skin to use a little foundation, seal it with powder and use concealer on my problem areas. I know its not rocket science but I am a little slow when it comes to realising what the sensible option is!

I was doing my usual nosey around superdrug and I decided to pick this up. I've previously purchased the dream matte mousse and was extremely disappointed as even the lightest shade and minimal amount would turn my skin a horrible orange. I do like other Maybelline products though so I decided to give their bases a second chance.

I picked up the shade 02 rose ivory and when applied I was really happy with the results. The shade is perfect for my skin tone and it sets my foundation really well. I like how under the powder there is a compartment with a mirror and applicator its great for on the go touch ups, I do personally favor a brush to apply the powder but the mirror is handy. It cost me £7.19 but was in a 3 for 2 deal when I was in, It doesn't break the bank and its does whats needed of it. I'm not sure Ill be repurchasing though as now I've got so many powders on my radar to test out!

There's a little Rimmel stand in my work that I pass every day walking up to the back of the shop where I work and every day for the past two weeks a little pot of polish has caught my eye. Completely out of my neutral or pink comfort zone this shimmery green/sometimes turquoise colour was quickly added to my polish collection come payday!

The polish itself is just a standard drugstore one, nothing special in the formula. It chips like the rest and needs two coats to achieve a decent colour payoff but the colour is truly lovely. I really like the express wand as well. I don't think it actually makes painting your nails any quicker but its a nicer brush compared to the standard ones.

The polish is available online and from most Rimmel stockists I assume. It was £3.69 definitley one to pop in the collection and it wont break the bank!

BEAUTY: Dirty works belle of the ball face mask.

Dirty works is what I believe to be a more bank balance friendly take on the Soap and Glory brand. I've only ever seen the brand in my local sainsburys but after a little online snooping I've discovered that it is its own company. I've bought a few of the products in the range before and when I saw this tube of face mask I decided I needed it in my basket! It was around the £3 mark so I really couldn't say no.

On the back of the tube it boasts to have blueberry, willow bark and green clay extracts to cleanse and detox the skin. It smells fresh and sweet with a hint of pale green in the colour. The tube recommends that you use it twice a week or just whenever you feel like your skin needs a little boost. I've used twice a week for the past couple of weeks and as much as it doesn't have wondrous effects on my skin it leaves it feeling fresh and soft. Not to mention the packaging looks lovely in my bedroom!

HAIR: Live Colour XXL Plum Perfection

Got bored and got my hair cut short. Got bored and dyed it red. Got bored and spent months trying to remove the red. Got bored and spent £70 on brown hair extensions. Got bored again and decided to dye my hair back to red. I need to take up knitting or heavy drinking before I go bald.

I went to Sainsburys with my mum last night and in the toiletries section I spotted live color XXL in Plum perfection. It was a nice purpley red and at roughly around the £5 (I've forgotten already its exact price) its a reasonably priced dye and I've always had good results from this brand.

The kit was just an average dye kit. If you've never used a home colour kit it includes: tube of dye, dye developer, conditioner, instructions & gloves that are always far too big for my little paws! My first reaction to the dye when I had mixed it with the developer and was applying it was "oh christ, its orange." but as it developed it went into more of a blood red colour. After washing out and conditioning I excitedly dried and straightened my hair to see the results..

I seem to have gotten a ridiculous amount of dye on my neck and scalp and the colour isnt as bright as I wanted but overall Im happy with the results. The colour will lighten after a few washes and its left my hair with a gorgeous shine to it. My next task is to try and dye my extensions to the same colour!

I had myself convinced last week that I had no pennies in my bank after my phone bill and one too many nights out but after checking my balance and being pleasantly surprised I've bought myself a few treats to brighten my week up.

Its safe to say Ive fallen in love with the 3/4 sleeved mac. Everyone's talking about the autumn sun but all I'm thinking about it my autumn wardrobe. I need to get shopping!

BEAUTY: Neutrogena visibly clear facial wash.

I've been prone to bad skin since I hit puberty and I am continually looking for products that try and help me avoid bad breakouts. I was using a Clearasil daily facial wash/scrub for a while but when I ran out I decided to try another product. The Clearasil one was good but I wanted something better and when in Sainsbury's I was instantly drawn to this.

I think its something about the grapefruit that makes it sound so refreshing. Not to mention its pink and I'm a sucker for anything pink but visible qualities aside after a couple of weeks of using this product I've decided that I really love it! Its not too harsh on my skin, smells lovely and a little goes a long way. I've been using it in the morning at night along with my St Ives scrub and body shop night moisturizer and so far I haven't had any bad breakouts, my skin although not perfect seems a lot calmer!

It retails for roughly £5 and can be bought from most supermarkets and drugstores. I do believe there is a scrub in the visibly clear range too that I plan on purchasing when my St Ives runs out and hopefully it has the same wonderful effects as the wash does!

When it comes to my everyday face I don't tend to mix it up. Once I've got a look I tend to stick with it. The lipstick I was wearing today was a little braver than usual but other than that there was nothing out of the ordinary.

I'm going to start mixing things up though. Touches of colour here and there and being in general more experimental with my make up. For my work understandably I have to wear a "natural face" but that doesn't mean I can't play around with some looks. Time to show a little love to my poor neglected make up that I'm brave enough to buy but not brave enough to use!

MAKE UP: GOSH Driftwood eyeshadow quad.

I've fallen a little bit in love with GOSH as of late. I've always passed its stand in my local superdrug as its horribly filled and usually doesn't have much that seems appealing. I've started to take the time and rake through it though as this little gem has become a staple in my work/average day make up routine.

At £8.50 its not exactly a bargain, you could get a sleek palette for cheaper but the size and shades are perfect if you don't want to carry a lot of make up around and like me you like to have a little touch up mid day.

The photo of the swatches make the two mid colours look very similar but when on there is an obvious difference. There is a slight shimmer to the shadows but its not too glitzy for everyday wear it gives your eyes more of a dewy look. I really like this quad, the colours are right up my street being a nudeaholic. The UD Naked palette is still my one true love but its just far too big and precious to take around the place with me and this is a perfect little compromise.

I have been lucky enough to take part in a nail art competition being hosted by Stargazer to try and create a design only using their products. We were sent a polish, nail art pen and a glitter shaker of our choice along with some nail art gems.

I got mine a few days ago and I've been deliberating on what design to do with them. I wanted to do something really original and creative but deep down I wanted glittery leopard nails. Can you guess what I went for?

The polish I chose was 518 from the Creme collection. Its an absolutely gorgeous colour and it makes my nails look great even without a design on them. I think this is going to be one of my staple autumn/winter nail colours.

After applying my second coat of polish I got to work with my glitter shaker. On the label of the glitter shaker it says you can use it on your eyes, body or even your hair! I chose the shade Onix its a black glitter which would be perfect to use for a black eyeshadow look.

Then finally I added some gems and used the silver nail art pen to draw some print onto my nails. I'm pretty happy with the outcome. Its a very sparkly and quirky look!

TAN: Palmers Natural Bronze gradual tanning lotion.

Its times like these I wish my blog was scratch and sniff. Shortly before departing for Ibiza (promise i'll eventually stop talking about it) I had to go on a toiletries binge for my holiday. I went to my local body-care as they always have great deals on and I was attempting to budget to keep my money for more important things like absinthe and cocktails.

Even though in my perfect Ibiza dream I would come back beautifully tanned I knew this wouldn't be the case. I did come home with a tan but as I'm so pale it just made me look a little less like death. Anyways I pre planned and bought this when I was in. I haven't really had many dealings with Palmers, sometimes there are little samples in magazines and they always seem nice but I've never bought or tried anything properly before.

After applying it the first time I was in love. I am a girl so its in my blood to love all things chocolate right? well the delicious smell of cocoa bean from this is to die for. Even the night after when I didn't tan my bed smelt of it and I was put back in my heavenly scented bubble. I know its not to everyone's taste but it got my mouth watering!

When it comes to colour I wont lie the first application I was a streaky mess but I'm going to put that down to my skin being being dry from holiday and me being a little heavy handed as with further use I've had no problems with the product. Its also left my skin in great condition after post-holiday peeling. I'm heavily considering naming this my holy grail gradual tanning lotion! Its the same price as other gradual tanning moisturizers such as Dove and Garnier roughly coming in at £5. I'm not sure if body-care is just a company in Scotland but I do know its also available in superdrug and online!

MAKE UP & BEAUTY PROJECT: Extreme project 10 pan.

What is project 10 pan? Project 10 pan is a common project that bloggers do when they realise they have far too many products and not enough pennies. The general rule is that you are not allowed to purchase any new products until you have "hit the pan" of ten of them.

My twist on things: I have far more than ten products that I need to get finished so instead I'm going to make it that every product I finish I put £10 into a little piggy bank. I cant open this piggy bank until every item is finished (cute little way to introduce me to saving eh?!). I'm separating the products into three categories and once I have finished the last one from them I can then repurchase either my favourite product from that category or a new one that I wish to try.

The first category that I need to cleanse is fake tan. I have ELEVEN bottles of the stuff. Granted that the gradual tanning lotions get used up quite quick and I only have two proper instant tanners I've been convincing myself that its not that bad. When Ive finished with these I want to only have only one bottle of gradual tanning lotion, a bottle of St Moriz mousse or a similar product and one instant tan, for tanning emergencies!

The second category is lip balms. I don't have a massive amount of them but I do loose a ridiculous amount of them and as the mother says 'it all adds up!' Id like to be able to finish these ones without having to go out and replace them. I also have a broken Dior lipstick that I keep dreaming of putting in one of the pots!

The last category of products is perfume. I have a total of twenty two perfumes that are sitting around my room. Its accumulated through Christmas and birthdays but instead of using them I go out and buy other ones! Id like to finish these and at the end of the project have two scents. A day to day one and one for when Im going out or want to smell all special.

So in total I have thirty eight products that I want to finish. When Each category is finished I'm allowed to replace them but until all thirty eight products I cant get into the little piggy bank. I wonder what I'll spend the £380 on. I'm sure Ill have a while to decide!

Ever since I got my models own nail art pen I've been obsessed with leopard print nails. I know the look has been slightly overdone but I cant help sporting them. They are so quick and easy to do but it looks like you have shelled out for a fancy manicure!

Before, during and after Ibiza I sported very bold coloured ones. It got me in the holiday spirit and cheered me up after the Ibiza blues set in. I think this colour palette is far more relaxed and will go with the winter wardrobe I'm planning. I'm searching for the perfect mac at the moment. Definitely will be sporting these nails once I find one!

How I got these nails:

- Two base coats of Revlon 006 sheer pink.

- Spotted Revlon 940 goldfinger on my ring finger and thumb

- Drew around the spots with my Models Own WAH WAH nail art pen in black.

definitely doesn't stay in Ibiza!

This little gem on my ankle appeared on the second last day. I wont lie I was a little intoxicated but I am still in love with it now that I'm sober.I know tattoos on holidays are seen as something to stray away from but Im really glad I got it. Just remember that if you are going to get one on holiday make sure the establishment is clean, watch the tattooist but the clean needle into the gun and try and get something that you wont regret! Two of the girls I went with got each others names on their bums, its hilarious for now but they are going to have a lot of explaining to do to their next boyfriends and future husbands!

IBIZA: The roundup.

Where we stayed: The Orvay apartments in San Antonio. They are very basic but decent for the money. You have to pay extra for air conditioning but its pretty cheap and definitely needed. Next to the Ibiza rocks hotel and not too far from the strip. It was a nice place to stay on a budget in Ibiza. Not to mention there are plenty of cafes and supermarket for food and drink close by too!

Where we ate: We mainly stuck to little places around our apartment. On the bottom floor there was a cafe called bananas that was all right also a place down the road called fatsos. One night we went to a nicer place called Zebra, it was priced reasonably and a little nicer than just a cafe. Everyone told us that cafe mambo was the place to go to watch the sunset and it really is gorgeous, its a little pricey though with a side order of chips being 7 euros alone.

Where we danced: We went to Judgement Sunday at Eden and also saw Swedish House Mafia at Ushuaia hotel. Other than that we were sticking to the west end clubs. Play 2 being the favourite haunt. There is always massive club events on every night but the west end is lively enough if you don't fancy forking out 60 euros a night for entry. Also most nights you can get offered free bands into some of the big clubs.

What we loved: Swedish House Mafia at Ushuaia, amazing night and an amazing hotel. Ibiza Rocks Shop, I now own the comfiest hoody and some pretty necklaces. Club closing times of 6am, we were literally dancing until the sun came up.

What songs we became obsessed with: Calvin Harris - Feel so close to you right now, Avicii - Levels, LMFAO - One day, Sebastian Ingrosso - Kidsos.

I'm sorry I don't have any other photos. The majority that I took are silly drunken ones and I haven't had a proper look at them to assess which ones can be seen by people. On top of that my camera has a fault and is going to have to be returned, the rave review for the fujifilm finepix has been short lived!

TECH: Fujifilm FinePix Z90

I can happily say that this will be the last post for a while (hopefully) that will be decorated with photos taken with my ipod. As I am not the proud owner of a shiny new camera.

A couple of years ago I had an older FinePix camera and out of all the ones Ive managed to go through it was by far my favourite and it still saddens me that I lost it. This camera is however a shinier and more updated version and so far its fantastic.

It boasts a 14 mega pixel lens with a touch screen display and has up to fives times zoom. Sounds fancy right? if you're not a camera buff then in simple terms. Its a pretty awesome camera. It also offers HD film and easy uploads to YouTube and Facebook. Great for bloggers and social butterflies. Another great thing is that the battery is a rechargeable one which means that there's no need to go out and spend ridiculous amounts of money on batteries!

Its available in a range of different colours but as I didn't have time to order in a pink one for Ibiza I settled for purple which to be honest I think looks great anyways. I made this fantastic little purchase in my local Tescos for £119.97 and when I came home with it I had a little nose in the Jessops catalogue and they are selling it for £20 more so Ive got a cheeky little bargain! Can't beat a bit of Barry M nail polish. The colours I used are 279 bright pink and 307 lemon. the black is my works marker pen and then I coated them all with a clear topcoat. Purr-fect! Thinking of having my nails like this for ibiza.

LIPS: Shocking Coral

I'm somewhat of a GOSH virgin. I bought some eyeshadow almost a year ago from the brand but I've yet to get round to using it and before last week it had been my only GOSH purchase. However last week I set myself a challenge of finding a whole outfit for a friends party that night on my lunch break I succeed with a gorgeous coral flowered blouse, black skirt and shoe boots. I decided to run into superdrug and grab some new makeup for it too. I passed the GOSH counter and saw this gorgeous coral lipstick and it was love.

When it comes to lipstick I'm not particularly brave. I stick to nudes and natural pinks but I decided to brave it and buy it. I figured that if I looked like a fool I'd just use my good old friend untag on Facebook. There was no need for that as the colour is absolutely gorgeous and it didn't disappear within a few minutes/drinks. I'm in love.

Unfortunately there are actually no pictures of me from said night. I must have been drunkenly hiding from peoples cameras and mines is still in camera heaven. These iPod pictures really don't do this colour enough justice but I will be armed with a new camera and this lipstick in Ibiza so stay tuned for some coral loving!

IBIZA: The diet that never really happened.

If you have followed my little neglected blog for a short while you will know that I am going to Ibiza on holiday very soon (12 days to be exact) and if you have followed my poor little neglected blog for a while you will know that a while back I attempted to diet for the holiday. As always my determination and concentration was defeated.

I am now even heavier before and regretting my weakness for dessert and one too many drinks. The solution? an (almost) two week body blitz. I would like to point out that in this two weeks I'm not going to stop eating and pray I get skinny. I'm going to do the things I've needed to do for a long time. Cut out fizzy drinks and massive amounts of junk food, exercise and give my liver a break from the booze. Obviously slightly more amplified for hopefully some sort of result. I don't expect to look like Miranda Kerr within the two weeks but I do hope to feel a little more confident when I finally don the bikini.

Since my initial post saying I was going on a diet I've actually gained weight and ended up at 141 lbs. Its all going to change from now though. Well last night will be the last supper of sorts and tomorrow morning everything will be kicked off with a run. Updates to follow!

There's only one thing that I'm wishing for right now and its that my trip to Ibiza arrives sooner. Its 31 days until I jump on my plane and let the party begin. I cant wait for cocktails in Ibiza rocks, Swedish house mafia playing in Pacha, hopefully endless amounts of sunshine and alcohol not to mention laughs with my lovelies. No work, no stress and (fingers crossed) no drama for a whole week. Hurry up please!

Tuesday Shoes-day - A shoe necessity.

In my last post I mentioned how I desperately wanted a new pair of black shoe boots after my last pair had to go to shoe heaven (R.I.P my Tk Maxx wonders) I can now happily say I have a pair in my collection. I obtained these little beauties from New Look for £25 and I can say that they are definitely my new favourite pair of heels.

I've worn them on two nights out since their purchase last week and both nights did not end in injury or sore feet. They also helped me avoid showing a fake tan disaster on my feet. Again, in love with these babies. The platformed heel gives me both the height I desperately need and helps with the comfort of the shoes. Lets hope these heels live a long and happy shoe life!

1. Pauls Boutique Mimi tote - I know a lot of people dislike Paul's boutique for their sometimes very garish designs but I'm quite like a few. The ones that dont have 'I HEART PB' all over them. I'm pretty sure I would heart them if they weren't stamped with that nonsense. Anyways I really want a pretty new bad for travelling when I'm off to Ibiza. This seems like the perfect choice, just my style and the perfect size. Not to mention it'll look wonderful next to my black and pink zebra suitcase.

2. Benefit Cha Cha tint - I absoloutley love pose-tint and bene-tint so this seems like the next Benefit purchase. I've not really seen much about it but I think again that It would be a safe purchase for Ibiza. Perfect product to go with a tan? possibly!

3. Pink boyfriend belt - I got a gorgeous little strapless playsuit from Tesco for going to Ibiza but it seemed to be missing something to make it really special. Admittedly I've been wearing it already with either a brown woven leather boyfriend belt or a purple high waisted belt. I got another gorgeous playsuit from River Island that came with a pink belt and I tried it on with the Tesco playsuit and it makes it look great. The Tesco playsuit is more laid back though so I think it would look better with a boyfriend belt.

4. New Shoe Boots - My beloved pair of shoe boots were the only heels in my collection that I could dance all night in without falling over (with one or two exceptions possibly) but alas their time to go to shoe heaven has came and now Im on the hunt for a new pair of faithful Saturday night shoes. Black heeled shoe boots are a necessity, they go with practically everything!

I've been MIA from the blogging/cyber world as of late. I wish I could give an excellent reason such as worldwide travels, career progression or a whirlwhind romance but if I'm completely honest I've spent the past few weeks working. partying and sleeping...

I'm now attempting an alcohol detox until I head off to Ibiza in August. I'm pretty sure that my liver, boss and parents will be overjoyed by this. Excited friends? probably not so much, until they realise for the next two months I'll be the designated driver.

There are two things that I believe every girl should have. The first is a pink nail polish and the second is a bit of Chanel in her life. This is actually my mums nail polish but like me she rarely gets to wear it so she doesn't mind me occasionally stealing it. I really love this colour, its bright, summery and oh so girly. Chanel nail polishes are amazing for their consistency and durability. When my mum has it on it doesn't tend to chip, with me its a different story but I think I'm cursed when it comes to chipped nails!

I think I'm going to get my own bottle of this for going away to Ibiza. I think it'll be the perfect shade to go with my bikinis and party gear. I've not gotten any stuff for going away but I'm thinking lots of loose tanks, high waisted shorts and colourful prints. Not even three months to go!

I drunkenly spilt vodka & lemonade on my laptop and its pretty much fried, add to that I've lost my camera cable and can't use my camera with my desktop computer. This is no excuse for being a bad blogger and I've decided to power through. Its my days off again which means pretty nails, I used another one of my Revlon purchases from the other week.

The photos really don't do the colour justice. My mum complimented me on it earlier and as she put it "its not exactly purple but its not pink either. Its in between the two". I really love Revlon nail polishes the consistency of them means I don't have to put two coats on unless I really want to. I wouldn't say they last longer than others they do chip just as much as other brands but I guess that means you can take your polish off and experiment with other ones!

I rarely get to wear nail polish because of my work unfortunately so its one of the beauty products that I haven't spent much money on lately. I was in the Revlon store last week though and they were doing a deal that If you spent over £10 you got a free item from a basket. I of course spent over £10 and was allowed to choose something and I chose one of their lovely nail polishes. Sheer Sugar to be exact.

Its my first of two days off and I felt like a little pampering was in order. I decided to geek out to criminal minds and do my nails. I put one coat on and it was just as the name described sheer and sugary but I got bored whilst on the sofa and decided to do a second layer on my tips. Et voilà a sheer sugar manicure! I'm actually really impressed the look I've got with just two coats of the same nail polish, its a lovely style its classic and looks very low maintenance and anyone with a half steady hand cam accomplish it. Definitely think this will be my go to nail style from now on when I have my days off as it took no time at all to do. I'm a happy Easter bunny with pretty paws!

Ink on skin - The first.

I remember the day I got my first tattoo well. It was an average January day two days after my eighteenth birthday and I had just finished a driving lesson when I headed up to the studio. I had been waiting for the day to come for as long but when it came to that moment I was absolutely terrified, I wont lie.

When I went into the studio the guys were lovely to me. The guy on the front desk was trying and failing to hang a picture up on the wall which was the source of much amusement and then once I was in the chair my tattooist was a genuinely nice guy who was very chatty and open about his tattooing experiences. I left the studio with my pretty pink bow and with the knowledge that I had apparently coped better with my first tattoo than my tattooist had his (he was covered head to toe I must also mention).

Most people I know say that my bow is their favourite of my tattoos and I must admit I do tend to favour it the most. I'm currently pouring over photos of some amazing tattoos right now for inspiration for my fourth which I hope to get soon. I keep joking with my friends I'm going to be the next Kat Von D, well a girl can dream!

Weigh in - Week two/three.

I've been a horrible blogger the past two weeks and completely neglected all the ideas that I had been working on. Things have been so hectic though attempting to juggle work, my social life and also recover from being unwell. I'm going to do a quick little recap on the last two weeks and Ill do a proper post to do with the diet on Sunday though.

Week two went well for the most part. I was eating balanced meals and wasn't snacking and my goal for the week of cutting out full fat fizzy juice was right on track. That was until the weekend festivities were under way and before I knew it I was on full fat vodka lemonades and my hangover cure on Sunday was a big fat Chinese. I realise everything should be in moderation and I shouldn't cut things out that I like but there was nothing moderate about it. My weight for the week stayed the same.

Week three I didn't actually set myself any goals as I was in my own little stressed out world. I didn't even manage to get to the gym and found myself snacking a little extra. Followed by another big weekend I ended the week with a weight gain up to 134 lbs.

I have found that Ive lost the enthusiasm I had right before I started the diet but I know that If I keep at it I wont regret it. Although I do want to lose weight for Ibiza my main aim for this is to change my eating habits to healthier ones. This week has been going for the most part better. My goal for this current week is to continue to avoid snacking and fizzy juice and now also to fit in at least two hour sessions of exercise. Check back on Sunday to see how I'm getting on. Also I will be putting up some "before" photos, I've been bad and relied on weheartit.com for the header image again!

Review - red grape & mango peel off face mask.

Ive said it before and Ill say it again. Nothing beats a bubble bath and a face mask when you want to feel a little pampered and I always want to feel pampered so I am constantly in need of bubble baths and face masks.

One of my recent finds was this bottle of peel off face mask. Anyone who has been in superdrug, boots or any other drugstore type place will most likely have seen the Montagne Jeunesse peel off face mask sachets, Ive used them for years but never had I seen their product in bottles. It cost about £4/5 but claims to have up to 10 applications in it, the one use sachets are usually 99p so if it does what it says on the bottle its quite a saving.

This mask itself smells delicious, really fruity and fresh and like the other masks in the range it doesn't disappoint. A lot of peel of masks that I've tried tend not to dry properly and go sticky in some places this one dries perfect and once removed it leaves my skin feeling clean and really soft.

Definitely a thumbs up from me. I noticed a few other bottles in the range and I think Ill get them too. Ill test them and report back. Also before using my face mask I exfoliated my skin with St. Ives apricot scrub and used simples cleansing toner. Reviews for both are coming soon!

Weigh in - Week one

I wish I could say that every time I blog that I do it with heels on and with perfect hair and war paint but alas in my little world nothing could ever be that easy. Instead I am here blogging in my pyjamas, make up free with wet hair. Yum, I know. This post is a day late as yesterday I was ill (self inflicted, horrible hangover!) and after work I went straight to bed. I can happily say that the first week of my body overhaul went more to plan.

This week I set myself the goal of starting to eat three square meals a day and to limit snacking as I seem to constantly seem to snack loads, skip meals and then when I actually do eat a proper meal I only eat half of it. This week I managed to start to organise my eating into some kind of normal state. Sticking to cereal or toast for breakfast, sandwiches or soup for lunch then it varied what I had for dinner. I did however end up coming in at 4am on Sunday morning and ate three quarters of a pizza. Id say for my first week at this it wasn't a total disaster. I did go to the gym twice and dancing on Saturday in heels must count for something.

Rambling over. Time for bed. In the next update I'm going to start doing body shots I think or I'll at least have one for the start and Ill have another one for at the end. Everything is a work in progress including my ideas for posts relating to my diet, also I have no batteries in my camera for nice photos. I need sleep to sort it all in my head and stuff. Stay tuned.

Weight at the end of the week: 133.6lbs

Goal for this week: I drink far too much fizzy full fat juice so I'm going to cut it out! I'm going to try and stick to water, tea and fruit juice and if I want something fizzy it has to be diet!

Beat the bulge - Summers coming..

The days are getting longer and drier. People are ranting and raving about festivals and holidays. The clocks are soon to change and its getting closer to spring time which means that summer will just be around the corner and guess what summer is? bare legs, little summer dresses & bikini season.

I like many other girls (and guys) have been a yo-yo dieter, giving up after a few weeks because Ive set myself ridiculous goals or restrictions but this year Ive decided to be different and actually set into motion a healthier lifestyle. I currently live off unhealthy food and drink and do very little exercise. If I change my lifestyle Ill hopefully become healthier, happier and even hopefully a little thinner.

I'm jetting off to Ibiza in August and Id like to achieve a lot by then. I know that in the week that I'm away Ill probably undo all the work I put in but If I can look back in 40 years at photos of myself tanned, toned and smiling like a Cheshire cat then Ill know it will have been worth it.

So today it all begins. I'll do an update every Sunday with my weight, a goal for the week after and info on how my week has went with the goal I had set before. If you have any tips or useful information then feel free to leave them in the comment section below.

Starting weight: 135lbs

First goal: Eat three square meals and limit snacking. I'm so bad for picking at things throughout the day, skipping breakfast and only eating half of my meals. I'm going to try and eat three meals a day and try and eat all that's on my plate so I don't pick at food in between them.

A visit to my hairdressers was long overdue so I knew that staying in bed this morning would be a horrible decision so I braved the hangover and got out of bed. I'm so glad that I did as my hair is looking and feeling so much better than it did. I have learnt though that I should never book half past nine appointments.

I was so tired because chase and status were playing at one of the local nightclubs last night. Yes the chase and status that are in the charts by the way, why they agreed to Stirling is unknown to me. It wasn't the two hot guys though it was one of the DJ's so that was a slight disappointment (I'd called dibs on "chase") but overall it was a good night excluding one of my girls getting upset and getting stuck in the middle of the dance floor when everyone was going mental, turns out mosh pits and platformed heels don't mix that great.

I'm off work this week so I'm going to be sleeping, blogging and hopefully catching up with old friends. Ive been a bit of a neglectful blogger and friend recently, time to get back on track!

For the first year ever I avoided the January sales. I was sick with the flu and struggling to make it through work and generally just staying out of bed and I knew if I attempted to fight my way through the sales racks it would have been too much for me. So alas there were no bargains to be found.

The other day though I went on a little spree and when I was happily skipping through debenhams with all my purchases heading to my car I passed the shoe boutique which always has some beautiful heels for me to lust after and guess what I spotted? a sale!

I quickly found the size 4 section and found the most beautiful pair of Miss KG black heels. They are extremely high, extremely beautiful and the best part is they are classic black heels that are a staple in every wardrobe. Cue Laura being extremely happy!

Review - Dirty works buff your stuff body scrub.

I feel like such a bad member of the Morrison's staff blogging about products that I've bought in different supermarkets but in all fairness if I'm not working I don't particularly want to be in work. This product is a little gem I found a while ago in Sainsbury's which I have just repurchased last week. Any fans of fake tan like myself will know that you need a good exfoliant or scrub to get rid of dry skin for a lovely even tan.

My exfoliant of choice is the coconut body scrub from body shop as Ive used it for what feels like forever but to use all the time it would be fairly pricey so when I stumbled across this little wonder I decided to try it out. It retails at £3.99 but Sainsbury's have had offers on it the last few times Ive been in so it can be picked up at a bargain price compared to other scrubs.

The scrub itself isn't too harsh so it is something that could be used frequently. It doesn't have a strong scent of anything and the packaging is rather cute (slightly copying S&G but that does make it fab!) Ive actually gotten into the habit of using it daily instead of shower gel and as much as it doesn't give my skin wonderful effects it does make it soft and is a great product for the price. I'm keen to try some of the other products they have on offer, Ill report back with my findings!

Pauls boutique maisy shoulder bag. £61 @ ASOS

Handbags are a close second to my shoe addiction but surprisingly I dont have a nude/off white bag. I think its probably due to the fact I am a messy little thing that doesnt really do good around light coloured things but when I was browsing and saw this I fell in love. Ive just been paid and it is ever so tempting, a light colour perfect for the spring time and it would be a nice addition to my handbag & pauls boutique collection. I do however have Ibiza to save for and also even though I just got paid Im too scared to check my bank balance after a little spree the other day. Decisions, decisions. Should I go for it?

Also what are your thoughts on pauls boutique? I really love their handbags, I have a limited edition barbie one and I adore it but when I speak to people about them I alwas hear mixed opinions. Ive heard them being branded as tacky and wannabe WAGish but I tend to disagre, am I wrong?

Review - Hot fudge bath syrup.

Its a well known fact in my house that I love my bubble baths and can spend a ridiculous amount of time in them. Even though it irritates my parents to no end my dad was rather lovely and bought me some bubble bath from asda last week when he was in getting a few things.

The hot fudge bubble bath that he got me from asda and I'm sure he said it was only about £3 and it smells absolutely gorgeous! When he gave it to me I also got a lecture because I was sniffing it far too much and he was convinced I was going to try and drink it because it smells so lovely. Of course I wouldn't but I wont lie, it was tempting.

I've had a stressful week with work and had a few bubble baths to try and ease the tension and I'm still in love with these scented bubbles. The only disappointing thing is that the scent is a little diluted when added to the water and also it doesn't leave your skin smelling of gorgeous fudge, asda if your reading this get it changed!

Overall I am impressed with my dads little shopping find (even if it was in Morrison's rivals!) and I will definitely be reusing and repurchasing until I go all pruney from too many bubble baths!

Ive got the flu which is surprising cause I never get sick, I just want the sniffles and coughing to go away now probably not going out would help this but I do love to dance. So the other night a friend posted on facebook that he had just wrote a bucket list for 2011. For anyone who doesnt know what a bucket list its a list of things to go before you "kick the bucket" I personally dont intend on kicking the bucket anytime soon but as someone pointed out to me you never know what life brings and if the mayans were correct were all going to be gone for 2012. Review: LUSH big tease hair gel.

Since getting my hair cut short my styling regime has changed dramatically. My hair takes very little time to dry and straighten but the styling products I use have had to change dramatically, I used to only use a little hairspray once I had finished doing it but now I need a wax or a gel to help style it. I'm on the search for one with the perfect scent and price tag that leaves my hair looking gorgeous. I was pleased to see this little pot in the new LUSH store in Stirling and I was quick to investigate what was inside.

Whats good about it: I really like the smell of this hair gel, it reminds me of the white musk scent from the body shop. Its not too masculine and its not a generic girly scent. It also is fairly good at styling my hair and has a good lasting hold.

Whats bad about it: Its quite runny, I would prefer it if it was a little bit thicker also sometimes it can go on a little clumpy which is never a nice look.

Where I purchased it: LUSH

Would I repurchase it: the pros outweigh the cons I definitely would, it makes my hair smell gorgeous!

Ink on skin: Trend or timeless?

I've been thinking of doing this post for a while now and I've decided the time is quite fitting to do it. Whats the post about? well tattoos of course. Why is this the right time to blog about it? I get my third in ten days.

Lately there has been lots of talk about tattoos as they have become very fashionable. When Chanel released their line of temporary tattoos everyone was in awe and the high street followed shortly after with cheaper alternatives (topshop and urban decay being the most popular, I believe) but what Ive noticed is the spike in people getting real tattoos.

When I got my first tattoo at the start of this year I could count on my hands how many people I knew with tattoos and now that number has tripled and is continuing to increase. I haven't changed social circles but the people I knows attitudes have changed towards tattoos. I was constantly criticised about getting tattooed at first as it was seen as something I would regret and an immature decision now its becoming the social norm. Tattoos have always been outside of the norm, more so in the past but as it becomes even more mainstream and people jump on the bandwagon it does begin to become something that people could end up regretting.

When picking out my tattoos there is a lot of things that come into consideration and I advise if you are considering getting a tattoo that you fully consider all the aspects of getting one so that the beautiful ink on your skin is timeless and not a trend.

Here's the three main things to think about/do.

Consider why you want one and if its a good idea - Is it because you like body art or is it because Cheryl Cole has one? Nobody likes a sheep and the fact of the matter is tattoos have a "great" way of changing peoples opinions of you and many workplaces still don't like their staff to have them. Would this affect you?

Take your time choosing a design- If you have an idea for a design then fully think it through. For me I like to have meaning behind my tattoos as for me its a way to remind me of certain things, the ink on my skin isn't a whim its the pictures to the story of my life. If you get a tattoo that's on trend then sure its pretty for a while but in 20 years will it still have the same meaning to you?

Find a good tattoo artist - Don't go to the first tattoo parlour you can find, go into a few and check out their work and find someone you click with. I also suggest getting a tattooist who will do original work on you rather than one out of a book, one of a kind work is always more special.

So I know its not exactly Tuesday anymore but Ive been so busy I haven't had the time to post this. One take sessions is the wonderful YouTube channel done by the very talented Gabe Bondoc. Pretty much his videos are him singing a song in one take, if he messes it up then he messes it up and keeps going. His voice is amazing and addictive. His covers are always inventive and his original music is also really good. I'm a big big fan and think you will be too if you have a listen..

Review: Maybelline dream sunglow tan.

Like many others I'm on the search for the perfect fake tan. My idea of the perfect fake tan is one that glides onto the skin leaving it feeling fresh, a lotion that I only have to use every other day, that smells gorgeous and leaves my skin with a beautiful even glow. The reality of fake tans though are the complete opposite of the dream. Some are sticky, streaky and leave you looking more satsuma than sun kissed.

I discovered maybelline's daily tanner a while back in my local chemist. I had never heard of it and was intrigued...

What I liked about it: its gentle tanning left me with an even tan and after a few applications I was left with a nice sun kissed look.

What I didn't like about it: Like the majority of lotions it was sticky and smelled of the generic fake tan smell. That being said I liked the colour that it left me so the pros outweigh the cons.

Where I purchased it: My local chemist. I haven't looked for it anywhere else but to my knowledge I haven't seen it anywhere else.

Would I repurchase it: If I can find it then I will definitely repurchasing. It doesn't break the bank and gives a nice colour.

How many pennies it cost: £4.50

Out of ten kisses its: 7/10

Tuesday Tube: MissChievous

I've decided to do a variation of the Tuesday tumble and do a Tuesday tube. So now every week I will feature either a really great tumblr site or a really good youtuber. Again if you have any suggestions or would like to be featured then leave a comment.

MissChievous is a YouTube channel run by the lovely Julia. She is a fellow beauty enthusiast and posts all sorts of helpful and handy tutorials. The video Ive decided to showcase her talents with is her recent tutorial on how to get gift wrapped nails. I haven't actually tried this one out yet but its perfect for this time of year and the tutorial is easy and simple to follow.

Its come to my attention that my random browsing through superdrug is probably one of the biggest drains on my bank balance. This little purchase wasn't a bad one though as it was in the sale. That makes the shopping addiction not as bad right? I sure hope so anyways..

This is actually my first GOSH purchase, Ive heard many bloggers talk about the brand but as ive probably pointed out before im still getting to grips with the world of make up.

Whats good about it: I really like the soft colours, probably not best suited for winter but they are vibrant but muted at the same time. They make the perfect base or are good for just using as a flat colour. I used the lilac with dark purple liner the other day and it looked great. Also when I done the swatches on my hand I tried to rub them off and eventually I had to go wash it off, this impressed me. I love an eyeshadow with staying power!

Whats bad about it: I would have liked a little more colour payoff but with a couple of applications I got it to the intensity I wanted other than this I loved it.

Would I recommend it: For a winter make up collection? no. but for a product to keep for a simple spring/summer look next year? definitely. I also would like to say I'm really happy with my first GOSH purchase and I'm definitely on the bandwagon with this brand!

How many pennies it cost: It was roughly £3, I cant remember exactly but it was a bargain!

Tuesday Tumble: All about Audrey.

Its no secret that I absolutely love Audrey Hepburn. Her story is one of courage, strength and love for others. The gamine goddess who will sparkle on our screens eternally survived personal problems and used her power for the greater good and to me that is wonderful.

What fascinates me about her isn't just her story but the style she sculpted and has continued on years after her death. Pixie crop? so Audrey. Ballet pumps? so Audrey. Black dress and pearls? so Audrey.

All about Audrey is a tumblr dedicated to photos of her. Whats great about it though is sometimes (more than often) there is a story with the photo, explaining when it was taken and so forth. To someone who tracks her story, this is fascinating.

Wanted: Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can't-live-without-each-other love.

Today was the release of sex and the city 2 on DVD. I am a huge sex and the city fan and I already have my copy to add to my collection. I also saw it on release day at the cinemas but I'm pretty sure the aimed readers of this blog will have too.

Ive already been criticised by people today about my love for sex and the city and as Ive said a million times to what feels like a million people: whats not to love? The style is amazing and to this day I take inspiration from the series and films into my day to day wardrobe (Patricia fields is a genius) and the storyline is so recognisable. Everyone is on a journey through life trying to figure out who we are, what we want and trying to find love. To this day whenever I'm having a crisis I turn to my SATC collection and every time I watch it I learn something new.

Thoughts on the DVD: Fabulous addition to the collection, the special features are very interesting. Perfect amount of sparkle for a fan of the girls.

Review: Mud therapy exfoliating mask

Whilst on my little browse of superdrug the other day I also bought a tube of raspberry exfoliating mud mask. Its superdrug's own brand and was only a few pounds, I've used it a few times since I got it and here's what I thought.

Whats good about it: well firstly it smells absolutely gorgeous, I'm a huge fan of sweet scents but normally when its a cheaper product its a generic strawberry scent that is far too sickly. The scent of raspberry is lovely though and its not overpowering whilst wearing the mask. Its easy to apply and when its removed from my skin it leaves it feeling fresh and smooth.

Whats bad about it: like every mud mask its a pain to get off completely but that's a common problem that wont ever go away. I couldn't find many faults on it other than I don't think it does much for my skin. It leaves it feeling fresh when I take it off but other than that it doesn't do much, it doesn't help my complexion or make my skin significantly softer.

Do I recommend it: it doesn't break the bank and its lovely for a little pampering session. A nice little accompaniment to a bubble bath and magazine.

Review: Sleek's sparkle Christmas palette

On Monday I went shopping into town with my mum and I decided to have a little browse in superdrug. I went to the sleek section as like many I am a big fan and I was interested in getting myself one of the bad girl palettes. Unfortunately they were sold out and only had good girl palettes left but behind some of them I noticed one silver sparkly package and I quickly picked it up and investigated.

It was a sparkle palette, one I had not heard of or seen on any of the blogs. There were no samples so i decided to open it up and have a peek. Upon opening I found twelve very sparkly Christmas shades and I knew that this palette was destined to be mine. Once I had bought it and returned home after some blog snooping I found out that this was the new limited edition Christmas palette to be released on the 24th (silly superdrug employee who put it out two days early, I love you!). This really was a cheeky little purchase!

Whats good about it: Like all of sleek's palettes this has a colour to suit everyone and is highly pigmented. I love the sparkles and it will definitely come in handy for creating some pretty Christmas party looks. Whats really good about this palette is that the colours are bold and different meaning loads of different looks are attainable.I could also mention that its great quality for the price but I'm pretty sure everyone knows this as everyone is on the sleek bandwagon, if you're reading this and thinking "I'm not!" then join us you really wont regret it especially with a sparkly little gift like this.

Whats bad about it: For me there's nothing bad with it. There are colours that I probably wont use as I'm not as experimental/skilled with make up as some people (I'm pretty sure id make myself look like I had an eye infection if i used cranberry) but I think that problem appears with any palette. To me this palette offers a range of looks there are just a few i wouldn't try, that's not the palettes fault its just my personal style.

Do I recommend it: 100% it really is a nice little purchase, its good value for money and the colours are fab. Id also recommend it as a nice little Christmas present to people. I'm not sure how easy it will be to grab as it is limited edition so I would get in there quick!
